Opening March 3
Abby Feinknopf: Abloom
Central Ohio artist Abby Feinknopf returns to Highline Coffee Art Space in Worthington for her second solo show as she exhibits her floral paintings, March 3 - April 30, 2021.
“Coming out of cancer treatment in March 2016, I found myself surrounded by cold dark weather,” Abby reveals. “I was creatively depleted and literally craving color. Turning from my previous work in fabric collage, I started painting as boldly and brightly as I could until I felt my creative spark return. This took a year of painting every single day. I haven’t stopped.”
A member of the National League of American Pen Women and the Ohio Art League, Abby attended Capital University in Columbus, Ohio and holds a B.A. in English from West Virginia University. She is a writer and mixed media artist living and working in Bexley, Ohio where she maintains a studio on Drexel Avenue.
After finishing treatment for cancer, Abby moved into painting from her previous fabric
collage work. Her writing and artwork have appeared in numerous magazines as well as Incite: Dreams Realized, The Best of Mixed Media, published by North Light Books in 2013. She has exhibited in several Ohio galleries and the Textile Center in Minneapolis. Her artwork appears on greeting cards and other retail products available through Urban Emporium in Bexley, the Columbus Museum of Art’s Museum Store, and Paper Daisy Floral Boutique in the Short North. Her artwork
was selected to be included in the inaugural Bexley Public Library’s Art Lending Library.
Christie Bruffy, owner and manager of Highline Coffee Co., says, “We're excited to bring Abby’s colorful work into Highline Coffee again. It will be the perfect way to welcome spring and uplift spirits.”
