Hello! I’m Rebecca, the curator of Kittie’s Highline Art Space. I love meeting new artists, showcasing their work, and learning about the creative processes that enrich our community. My mission is simple: to bring art into every home and share it with everyone.

The Art Space is a cozy, intimate gallery located inside Kittie’s in Worthington, Ohio, featuring talented artists from central Ohio. Whether you’re stopping in for the coffee, the art, or both, we invite you to visit, enjoy the beauty on display, sip a fresh cup of coffee, and treat yourself to a hand-crafted pastry delivered daily.

Daniel W. Floss

Central Ohio photographer Daniel W. Floss brings a striking black-and-white photography exhibition to Kittie’s Highline Art Space in Worthington, on view January 5–February 28.

Inspired by the work and legacy of Ansel Adams, Floss is a devoted follower of the philosophy of Group f.64, the influential collective founded in 1932 by Adams and six other West Coast photographers. The group championed “pure photography,” emphasizing sharp focus, rich detail, technical precision, and direct representation—principles that remain central to Floss’s work today.

Working exclusively in black and white, Floss explores both the natural world and man-made structures. He is particularly drawn to found subjects and compositions that highlight textural detail, dramatic lighting, and emotional content. His photographs are characterized by full depth-of-field focus, inviting viewers to engage deeply with every element of the image.

“The photographs being presented for this exhibition are a representation of the type of subject matter that I am typically drawn to,” Floss explains. “I focus on found subjects and compositions, with an emphasis on texture and clarity, allowing the viewer to experience the subject in its entirety.”

Floss cites Ansel Adams, Jeff Nixon, Alan Ross, John Sexton, and Edward Weston as key inspirations, each contributing to his appreciation for disciplined technique and expressive simplicity. To learn more about Floss's work, visit danielwflossphotographer.com

The owners of Kittie’s, Steve and Diane Herman, shared their enthusiasm for the upcoming show, noting that the Art Space continues to foster meaningful connections between artists and the community. Guests are invited to enjoy thoughtfully curated artwork alongside Kittie’s signature offerings of freshly brewed, locally roasted One Line coffee, teas, hot chocolate, smoothies, and baked goods.

Kittie’s Highline Art Space is located at 693 High Street in Worthington and is open Monday through Sunday, 7am–4pm.
