Opening July 2nd
Whitney Parker Scully:
Childhood Illustrated

Central Ohio artist Whitney Parker Scully makes her debut at Highline Coffee Art Space in Worthington with her first solo show as she exhibits her pencil drawings, July 2-August 31, 2021.

Scully creates commissioned pencil portraits because she thinks everyone deserves to have personalized fine art. She loves to get lost in the details, working from photographs to capture the essence of both people and pets. Since she works out of her home with four sons and a husband, tracking her time is a challenge, but she averages 20 hours of drawing for each piece and it shows. Her masterful pencil strokes bring the paper to life with energy and personality that is truly unique.

“I have always loved the simplicity and magic of pencil drawing.” Scully explains. “I am thrilled to be able to work on honorary and memorial pencil portraits nearly every day.”

For “Childhood Illustrated,” Whitney Parker Scully partnered with Erin Brown Photography. Taking inspiration from Brown’s family photo sessions, Scully created her own take on the freedom, innocence, curiosity, and even a bit of mischief that encapsulates what it means to be a kid. Capturing the magic of childhood, the pieces are both timeless and nostalgic, and Scully is excited to share the collection with audiences of all ages.

“Whitney’s artwork captures so many childhood emotions we can all relate to. We are excited she is making her debut at Highline Coffee Art Space,” says Christie Bruffy, owner and manager of Highline Coffee Co.
